The presentation addresses the value of IDEA data managers and staff working with data from systems integrated with general education and early learning programs. Viewers can learn how integrated data can support the SSIP to provide a comprehensive integrated view of children/students, schools, and programs to improve outcomes for children and their families. A helpful handout is included.

This session focused on how to best communicate high-quality data by applying different strategies to prepare data for dissemination and use. Topics covered in this session included the importance of understanding the audience, how stakeholder needs can vary when understanding and interpreting data, why data governance is a key component in planning data communication activities, and why accessibility is important. This session highlighted sections of the Data Use component of the IDEA Data Center Part B Data System Framework.

This presentation can help SEAs learn about perspectives on stakeholders as allies and formulate essential questions to consider as they implement Phases II and III of the SSIP.

This presentation provides a brief overview of SSIP evaluation requirements and an introduction to key steps in planning an SSIP Evaluation.

Panel participants included staff from the DQC and the Georgia Department of Education. DQC staff discussed the role of education data and the opportunity to go beyond compliance, the need for focusing on policy priorities, and new opportunities the Every Student Succeeds Act presents. Georgia Department of Education staff shared their story about how the state has built a culture of data use from state-level infrastructure development to getting the data into the hands of teachers who are using the data to have a positive impact on improving student results.

Wisconsin is striving to embed IDEA data culture throughout the state’s Department of Public Instruction. Learn how Wisconsin is working to achieve a strong, shared data culture through initiatives such as collaborating with Title I and Every Student Succeeds Act staff to create joint federal notification reports and creating dashboards for districts to drill down into their data.

This session highlighted Florida and New Jersey as presenters. They told their states' stories of how they have created a culture of high-quality data.
