Show Me the Data – Data Visualization and Presentation Webinar Series (Parts 1 and 2)

Recordings of a pair of introductory webinar sessions on data visualization are available to watch.

In this first session, participants were introduced to the basics of data design and color usage. The focus was on creating clean, contemporary versions of basic everyday charts and graphics. Participants were given step-by-step instructions on how to approach visualization from data tables through publication and presentation.

In this second session, participants were introduced to some new chart variations and strategies for visualizing and presenting data. These new chart variations, such as diverging bar charts, dot plots, and slopegraphs, allow for the additional flexibility in creating, crafting, and communicating the right message. The session closed with a discussion of some web-based tools that could be helpful in designing visuals for web-based communication.
