Strengthening the Implementation of Your SSIP Evaluation and Documentation of Results

Time and Date

Overview

As part of the State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP), states must evaluate their ongoing progress in achieving improved results for children and youth with disabilities and document this progress through annual SSIP reporting. In this webinar, SSIP coordinators, Part B state directors of special education and Part C coordinators, and others contributing to state SSIP work learned about common challenges states face when implementing and documenting SSIP evaluations and strategies for addressing various challenges. IDC staff discussed challenges such as ensuring the quality of the data, collecting relevant data to address long-term outcomes, and demonstrating how a state’s SSIP results inform plans for moving forward with its SSIP. Staff also presented strategies, including using logic models to anchor activities and evaluation, creating data inventories, refining indicators of progress and results, and documenting databased program decisions. In addition, presenters shared IDC key resources and services available to states to strengthen the quality of their SSIP evaluation and completeness of their SSIP submission.
