Back-to-Basics on Part B SSS-IDEA Surveys—What You Need to Know About SSS-IDEA, Assessment Metadata Survey, and Data Quality

This webinar continued IDC's Back-to-Basics Webinar Series. The webinar provided information on how the State Supplemental Survey (SSS-IDEA) and Assessment metadata that states submit through EMAPS affect EDFacts files and data quality. Presenters emphasized the importance of communication between EDFacts coordinators and Part B data managers. The webinar focused on beginning level information on the SSS-IDEA and Assessment metadata surveys, including a review of the content and how to complete the surveys. Presenters focused on connecting the metadata provided in the surveys to EDFacts files that states submit into the EDFacts Submission System (ESS). Presenters discussed the importance of communication between EDFacts coordinators and Part B data managers and how effective communication can improve data quality. In addition, they introduced IDC’s new tool, the IDEA Part B SSS-IDEA Crosswalk, and how states can use the crosswalk to improve the quality of the data they submit to OSEP.
