Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Who should attend this meeting?
The primary purpose of this meeting is to provide technical assistance to state Part B and Part C staff who collect, report, and analyze data required by IDEA. Staff with these responsibilities should attend.
Whose meeting expenses will be covered by DAC?
DAC will reimburse two state staff members (one
from Part C and one from Part B) for their airfare, hotel rooms,
and meals to attend their respective meeting. The State Director
of Special Education must designate the Part B attendee whose expenses
will be paid by DAC. Similarly, the Part C Lead Agency Coordinator
must designate the Part C attendee whose expenses will be paid by
DAC. Data Managers who want to attend both meetings must pay their own expenses
and the registration fee for the second meeting unless they are the designated attendee
for Parts B & C.
Who pays a state employee registration fee and how much
is it?
Additional staff members are welcome but are responsible for their
own expenses and must pay a registration fee of $250.00 per person,
per meeting to cover their meeting and meal costs. These additional
attendees should make their travel arrangements according to the
logistics information that will be sent to them after they complete
the registration form.
How do I pay the registration fee?
Please advise your accounting personnel to make payment payable
to: WESTAT, Attn: Liz Zimmerman, RA 1231, Westat, 1650 Research Blvd.,
Rockville, MD 20850 and reference on the check or purchase order
the name of the individual as well as which meeting you will be
attending. We are sorry for any inconvenience,
but we cannot accept electronic or credit card payments at this
time.
If I have already paid my registration fee and
need to cancel, can the fee be returned to me/my agency?
Participants who have submitted their Registration fee to attend the
OSEP Data Meetings and need to cancel their registration can get a full
refund if they make a request in writing by April 15, 2008. If DAC receives
the request before May 9, 2008, we can refund half the registration fee ($125).
After May 9, 2008, the registration fee can no longer be refunded.
Will the meeting site accommodate persons with
a disability?
Yes, the meeting site is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Any individuals who will need accommodations for a disability to participate in
the meeting (e.g., special room accommodations, sign language interpreting
services, assistive listening devices, materials in alternate format),
should specify these needs when they register. Federal employees with disabilities may need to work through their agency to obtain the needed services. Please indicate your request on the registration form.
