Help

On the Table Contents page there are five options for the type of data to display in your results:

  • Number
The individual cells in your results will contain counts.

  • Percentage - Column over column total
On the variables page you will select a set of column variables. The individual cells in your results will be calculated by dividing the count for that cell by that row's total value for the column variables you selected. Each row will have the same denominator for every cell on that row.

  • Percentage - Column over census population total
The individual cells in your results will be calculated by dividing the count for that cell by the census population total for the relevant individual age, age group, and/or ethnicity by state.

  • Percentage - Row over row total
On the variables page you will select a set of row variables. The individual cells in your results will be calculated by dividing the count for that cell by the total for that column's total value for the row variables you selected. Each column will have the same denominator for every cell in that column.

  • Percentage - Page over Page Total
On the variables page you will select one or more sets of page variables (depending on the dataset you have selected). If you are building a request for a dataset that has multiple page variable options, then you will be asked to select which of those page variables to use for calculating percentages. Then the individual cells in your results will be calculated by dividing the count for that cell by the total value for the page variable you selected. Each table will have the same denominator for every cell in that table.
